Hello students! My name is Professor Noctowl, and today, I wish to draw attention to Groudon. Groudon is an elite Ground type pokemon, being a star in both PvP and PvE. Course Schedule

This raid will be taking place between April 15th and April 21st. This raid is preceded by Mega Aerodactyl and Kyogre, coincides with Mega Alakazam, and will be followed by Mega Sharpedo and Tapu Koko.

Being a pure Ground type, Groudon is weak to Grass, Ice and Water. Though, be careful, as with each of those types, Groudon can know a charge move that will be super effective against that Pokémon.

Groudon’s moveset includes the following charge moves:

• Earthquake
• Fire Blast
• Solar Beam
• Return
• Precipice Blades
• Fire Punch

The Dean’s List consists of the top 5 counters to Groudon. As always, the Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and the Third Ranked will have their best moveset alternatives in a table with their rankings and a table detailing their defensive prowess against the charge moves listed above.

Sometimes, the weather can be your most powerful ally. In certain weather conditions, certain Pokémon on our list excel. The most transformative cases are noted below.

Overall, Groudon is tough to counter. Most Pokémon will end up being weak to at least onf of Groudon’s charge moves. It’s the safest bet to bring in Regigigas from our Dean’s List, due to not being weak to or resisting many charged moves. Though, if you’re feeling lucky, Shaymin (Sky) double resists most dangerous moves, only taking weak damage from Fire Blast, and Fire Punch.
